Folks, it is time for us as Oldham County voters to elect new representation in Frankfort. Your vote on Nov. 3 for Stephanie White as State Representative for Kentucky House District 59 will go a long way toward accomplishing this goal.

Stephanie is a certified math teacher at North Oldham High School. She is passionate about teaching her students math, and she excels at it. With a Ph.D. from the University of Louisville in Curriculum & Instruction, STEM, she is the consummate professional educator, and Oldham County Schools is fortunate to have her. Charismatic, compassionate and down-to-earth, she is a favorite among her students. Ask anyone you know associated with NOHS — student, colleague or parent — about her, and you will get rave reviews.

But that’s not all she is. Stephanie is also a successful businesswoman, being the founder, owner and operator of Louisville Family Fun LLC. Check it out: louisvillefamilyfun.net. This family-focused enterprise grows family and community connections throughout the area, and it’s fun! The lessons learned by Stephanie from this entrepreneurial experience will be invaluable in the state legislature’s halls and committee rooms in Frankfort.

Perhaps most importantly, however, in preparing Stephanie to serve as our District 59 representative in Frankfort, she holds a Master of Public Affairs and Policy Analysis from the University of Texas at Dallas. This degree gives her a broad understanding of the practical, theoretical and legal foundations of governmental management and policymaking, and an advanced proficiency in governmental research and organizational analysis. With these governmental policymaking tools in her toolbox, Stephanie is fully prepared to immediately take on leadership roles in the Kentucky General Assembly.

I emphasize Stephanie’s professional, educational and experiential credentials because I’ve seen firsthand, after a 28-year career as a state government attorney in Frankfort, what it takes to be a highly effective legislator. It takes written and oral communication mastery, consensus-building skills, perseverance and courage with a knack to know when to compromise. And Stephanie White has got what it takes in spades. It is time for a new generation of leaders to represent us in Frankfort. I encourage you to vote, and to vote for Stephanie White in Kentucky House District 59.
